Good morning, friends. As the first light of October 14, 2026, gently wakes the world at this early hour, I invite you to pause with me and receive a simple, powerful word for the day ahead. Our verse in the Fear Not series comes from Genesis 43:23: "Be at ease... you have no need to fear." These words were spoken to men carrying heavy burdens. Joseph's brothers had traveled far, their hearts filled with worry about the past mistakes they had made and the uncertain future that lay before them. In that tense moment, a reassuring voice cut through their anxiety and invited them to relax, to trust that provision and peace were already in motion. We wake up to our own versions of that tension every day. Perhaps you are carrying concerns about rising costs, job stability, or the health of someone you love. Maybe the steady stream of headlines about global events leaves you wondering how things will unfold for your family or community. These real pressures can make fear feel like an unwelcome companion as we start our routines. Yet the ancient invitation still rings true: be at ease. The same God who turned a story of betrayal and famine into one of reunion and abundance is present in your circumstances right now. He sees the bills, the difficult conversations, the quiet doubts, and the larger uncertainties that occupy our thoughts. Nothing surprises Him, and nothing is beyond His care. This morning, take a slow breath and let the promise settle. You do not have to face the day braced for the worst. Small acts of trust—offering a kind word, pausing for gratitude, or simply choosing to move forward—can loosen fear's hold. As communities continue to navigate challenges together, we can be sources of calm for one another, reflecting the peace this verse offers. Whatever lies ahead today, remember you are held. Walk gently, stay hopeful, and know that ease is possible even amid the unknown. #FearNot220 #004of220 #Catholic
